With each passing year, we observe the global news media giving more attention towards the conversation of asteroids. 2020 was unique in that the coronavirus crisis had substantially increased the amount of global news consumption in general. 

While a handful of the most popular asteroid articles were about ominous flybys (“Election Day Asteroid” anyone?), asteroid missions dominated the headlines. Between ESA, NASA and JAXA, media articles captured a range of pivotal mission milestones –from missions being funded to completing main objectives and a full return.
