Virtual Telescope:

Time: Italian – 19:00 UT, English – 23:00 UT

In honor of Asteroid Day, the Virtual Telescope will offer several great online events, with amazing guests and more. The Virtual Telescope is one of the best facilities tracking these exotic rocks. The technology used is so advanced it is able to track any asteroid, no matter how fast it is moving in the sky. With that being said, the Virtual Telescope is hosting two live streamings, scheduled for June 30th: a live streaming in Italian, starting on 30 June 2016, at 19:00 UT and a live streaming in English. starting on 30 June, at 23:00 UT. The event will guest star Debbie Lewis, Grigorij Richters, Michael Swartz, Thomas D. Jones, and Eric Christensen.

The virtual realm has provided a platform to spread global awareness about asteroids and their impact through a virtual experience, which can be viewed from any where in the world. Gianluca Masi, founder of the Virtual Telescope, provided insight into the virtual events and activities.

Italian streaming:

Commences at 19:00 UT, while the sky is still bright. It will allow enough time for an introduction and host speakers. There will be 60/70 minutes before the live observations start and within that time frame, Gianluca will acquaint the audience about asteroids and introduce the guests. At about 20:15 UT, the live observations will start: conduct by Gianluca himself. This show is expected to last about 130 minutes.

Details on the italian streaming virtual event can be found here: http://www.virtualtelescope.eu/2016/05/20/asteroid-day-italia-osservazione-online-di-asteroidi-potenzialmente-pericolosi-30-giugno-2016/

English streaming:

It will start on June 30th, 2016, 23:00 UT, after the Italian streaming. The sky will already be dark by this hour, therefore observations will commence immediately. Comments, guests and contributions will be hosted while the observations are ongoing. Additionally, a chat will be available for interaction with participants.
