Les is a physicist and a Principal Investigator for NASA’s first deep space science mission using solar sail propulsion, Near-Earth Asteroid (NEA) Scout. During his career at NASA, Les served as the Manager for In-Space Propulsion Technology Project and the Interstellar Propulsion Research Project. His latest book, A Traveler’s Guide to the Stars (Princeton), will be published in October.
