Ten days from today, asteroid experts, astronomers, astronauts and the general public will be participating in events across the globe to talk about asteroid discoveries, science and Planetary Defense.

Last year there were more than 150 events around the world from San Francisco and London to Kathmandu and Seoul. This year we anticipate even more events worldwide.

The premier events of the day will be on four continents:

  • In Vienna, at the Museum of Natural History, there will be planetarium shows and asteroid discussions all day, including a talk about using 3D analyisis and printing on meteorites and an update on NASA s DAWN mission to study Ceres.

  • In Arona, Spain, at the Starmus Festival, a celebration of astronomy, space exploration, science, music and art, Rusty Schweickart, Former B612 Co-Founder, will give a talk looking back on his fifteen years in the Planetary Defense community.
