Dr Stefania Soldini is a UKRI Future Leaders Fellow and Associate Professor in Space Engineering at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, University of Liverpool. She leads the UKRI-funded REMORA (REndezvous Mission for Orbital Reconstruction of Asteroids) project, developing autonomous navigation and mapping techniques for asteroid characterisation, and is the director of the Zero-G AstroLab, a new 60 m² facility for microgravity research on autonomous systems at the University of Liverpool.

Dr Soldini serves on the science core teams of ESA’s Hera and RAMSES, NASA’s DART, and JAXA’s Hayabusa2 missions, and was the Principal Investigator for the Hayabusa2’s superior solar conjunction phase in 2018. She previously worked at JAXA/ISAS following a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship and holds a PhD from the University of Southampton. Her research spans astrodynamics, radio science, guidance and control, autonomous navigation, planetary science, and space robotics.
