Maurice Bauer is a Member of Parliament and 1 st Deputy Mayor of the City of Luxembourg since December 2023 after having been Deputy Mayor since August 2019 and municipal councillor of the City of Luxembourg since 2011.
He served as Secretary General to the Board of directors of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange from 2008 until Novmber 2023. Before he was Secretary General at CETREL. He began his training as lawyer at Schiltz & Schiltz law firm before joining the Dexia-BIL Group as a legal advisor. He is Chairman of the Foundation “Maison de la Porte Ouverte”, an organization that takes care of abused and disadvantaged children and women.
Maurice Bauer holds a master in law, graduating in 1997 at the University of Strasbourg. During his studies, he worked as journalist at the European Parliament.
