Dr Emily Baldwin is an independent communications consultant with an academic background in planetary science. After specialising in impact cratering for three years she made the switch to science communication for the general public and joined Astronomy Now magazine as their first online news and social media editor.
She then moved to the Netherlands and became the European Space Agency’s Senior Space Science Editor, where she contributed to the Agency’s most impactful and award-winning communication campaigns, including Rosetta and Juice. Emily launched her own company, North Star Content, in 2024, out of a passion for storytelling and content strategy.
She is currently working with Astronomy Now (again!) and space energy startup TerraSpark, writing articles and managing social media, and still supports ESA’s communication team as a freelance writer with EJR-Quartz.
