Dr. Anne Virkki joined the Arecibo Observatory staff in April 2016 after receiving her Ph.D. in Astronomy in the University of Helsinki, Finland. In her doctoral thesis she worked on numerical modeling of radar scattering, progressing the theoretical foundation required for interpreting planetary radar observations. She became the head of the planetary radar group in 2018. Her current research interests include radar observations and polarimetry. On her free time, Anne enjoys drawing and dancing.
