Dr Amin Badr-El-Din, Founder and CEO of BADR Investments, is an International Affairs expert and one of the Middle East’s leading economic strategists.

Dr Badr-El-Din is presently involved in Private Equity, Venture Capital and Angel Investing activities globally. He is also involved in Project Development with a focus on Sustainable Food, Energy and Water (the FEW Initiative), as well as Real Estate.

He has a particular interest in structuring cross border transactions that capitalize on synergies of different parts of the world.

With his remarkable experience in putting complex commercial profit-oriented partnerships together; and his high level of credibility in the international financial community, Dr Badr-El-Din continued providing consultancy services to both governments and corporations combining his entrepreneurial skills of venture capital and his international and strategic capabilities which have allowed the creation of a portfolio of initiatives covering sectors along the entire spectrum of economic activities across a wide range of geographies.

He has also been involved in structuring transactions globally including, the acquisition of Enron, a global integrated energy giant for several billion US$. Later on, the consortium he led backed off from the transaction on ethical grounds based on the discovery of the first off balance sheet transaction.

Dr Amin Badr-El-Din has structured, led and developed ventures in the fields of sustainable food, energy and water, financial services, environment, infrastructure, extractive industries, utility, fish farming, agriculture, medical, tourism, education, services, technology, real estate development, industrial and business zones, media sector, polo and horse racing clubs, science and business parks, business incubators, investment funds, government privatization and offsets funds.

He has advised a number of governments on economic development including France, Jordan, Indonesia, Ireland, Malaysia, South Africa, Switzerland and the UAE.

Dr Badr-El-Din’s career started in California, with a mix of technical, financial and management disciplines. He consulted industries on venture capital activities, technology, investment and joint ventures, as well as consulting governments on attracting foreign investment and development.

Dr Badr-El-Din is a member of several boards worldwide and he is involved in numerous non-profit activities.

He is a fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, member of Industrial Electronic Engineers, Inc. (IEE) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) as well as a number of other professional organizations.  He is often invited to be a keynote speaker in conferences and events worldwide.
