It is our pleasure to announce Markus Payer as the new Board Chair of the Asteroid Foundation. We look forward to Markus’ guidance and enthusiasm for our mission to educate the world about asteroids. Georges Schmit, our Founding Chair, stepped down and thankfully continues to serve on the board. Georges will work closely with Markus and the Asteroid Day team into the future. Asteroid Day is a program run by the Asteroid Foundation, a Luxembourg nonprofit organization.
Markus is a globally experienced Communications, PR, Public Affairs, network, and reputation manager. Over the course of his career, he has worked in high-level Corporate Communications, PR, Public Affairs and Commercial PR, and been a member of company management and acted as company spokesman. Markus has extensive experience with lobbying and networking capabilities in international media, political and diplomatic networks, governments, think tanks, institutions, and foundations.
He has a strong track record in strategic positioning, development, and implementation of company/industry narratives and experience in complex and highly regulated industries and listed companies in diverse industries (media, telecommunications, aerospace, chemical, agricultural and biotech).
