Dr. Patrick Martin is working since 2000 at the European Space Agency (ESA). He has over 20 years’ experience in the Space Sector field, notably in the positions of Research Associate; Deputy Project Scientist; Science Operations Management and Mission Management. He has been / is involved in a number of space projects and interplanetary missions, including NASA’s Galileo mission to Jupiter, NASA’s Near Earth Asteroid RendezVous mission to Asteroid 433 Eros, and ESA’s Mars Express, Venus Express and Rosetta missions. Patrick Martin is currently Rosetta, Mars Express and Venus Express Mission Manager at ESA.

Dr. Patrick Martin holds a M.S. in Telecommunications from the Lille University, France; a M.S. in Aerospace Electronics from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l‘Aéronautique et de l’Espace (Sup’Aero) in Toulouse, France; a M.S. in Astrophysics, Geophysics and Space Techniques from the Paul Sabatier University, Toulouse, France; and a PhD in Planetary Sciences from the Paul Sabatier University (France).

Dr. Patrick Martin has authored or co-authored over 20 peer-reviewed scientific or technical papers and proceedings in the space sector field and over 100 other scientific abstracts and conference presentations. He is the recipient of a number of Awards and Recognitions. He is fluent in 3 European languages and has an extensive international professional experience, having lived in 4 different countries.
