The Missions to Asteroids exhibition has been updated to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Asteroid Day, observed worldwide on June 30. Since its launch, the poster series has captivated audiences in several countries, supporting event organisers in offering the public interactive experiences that combine science, information and curiosity.

Posters displayed at the Asteroid Day event organized by Astronomsko Društvo Polaris in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This new version includes the most recent Lucy probe flyby over asteroid Donaldjohanson, connecting people to the most recent discoveries in the exploration of these space rocks.
Now available in English, Italian, and Portuguese, the exhibition reinforces its role as an educational and scientific outreach tool, bringing awareness about asteroids and planetary defense. With accessible language and engaging resources, it encourages schools, museums, cultural centers, and astronomical organisations to explore these topics from fresh perspectives.

This updated edition also arrives at a strategic time, anticipating the International Year of Asteroid Awareness and Planetary Defense, scheduled for 2029. It aims to increase public awareness of the risks of impacts and highlight advances in technology and global cooperation to protect Earth.
Posters were added to the collection of the Museo de la Evolución in Puebla, Mexico.
In this commemorative version, we highlight the work of two science communicators and content producers. Their brilliant work made it possible to present the exhibition in two more languages, along with explanatory videos accessible via QR codes on each poster. How about getting to know them?
Luca Nardi – An astrophysicist and science communicator, he specialises in planetary science, astronomy, and space exploration. Active on YouTube and social media, he is also the author of popular science books. In recent editions of Asteroid Day, he has been a consistent contributor, sharing insights through videos and conferences.
Nicole Semião – Better known as Nicolinha, she is a young Brazilian amateur astronomer who gained national and international prominence for her early involvement with science and astronomy. From a very young age, she began to show interest in the sky, especially asteroids, having participated in courses, lectures and projects on the subject. Her commitment and dedication to activities related to asteroids earned her the title of Asteroid Day ambassador.
