Nahum Melamed

Nahum Melamed is a project leader at The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, California. He obtained Bachelor and Master Degrees in aeronautical engineering from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, and a PhD in aerospace engineering from Georgia Tech, Atlanta, Georgia. At Aerospace he leads a collaborative effort with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) for developing an online tool for deflection of earthbound asteroids. Dr. Melamed serves on planetary defense conferences and planetary defense exercises organizing committees and gives talks at these venues. He also developed a planetary defense class centered on this tool and instructed it over a dozen times at Aerospace and elsewhere.
