Maria has specialist expertise in policy, strategy, digital transformation, marketing and communications. She recently completed a transformation of Australia’s global diaspora organisation, Advance.org and is currently the Director of Government Relations and Innovation Strategy at Kyndryl.
She is an Industry/Professional Fellow at UTS and sits on the Advisory Council for the Commissioner of the Australian Federal Police. Maria chairs the strategy board for the ARC Training Centre for Information Resilience (CIRES) and is a member of the Business School’s Board of Advice at the University of Sydney.
Maria is a Non-Executive Director of Spark Festival, a co-founder of the Future Work Summit and the inaugural Convenor of the Australian Innovation Council connecting leaders of the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem with each other, with government, business and the not-for-profit sector domestically and globally. She also sits on the Advisory board of Idea Spies.
She spent over 25 years leading marketing and business development teams in professional services, was an adviser to Senator the Hon. Arthur Sinodinos AO, Australia’s current Ambassador to the United States and lead Strategy and Engagement at the DTA within the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet.
Maria was recognised in the 2018 International Women’s Day Showcase, is a nominee in the 2018 Women of Influence Awards and is the winner of the Startcon Australasian Community Most Valuable Person Award in 2018.
She is a member of the International Women’s Forum, the Royal Society NSW and a Fellow of RSA – The Royal Society for Arts, Manufactures and Commerce.
