WHAT IS ASTEROID DAY?
The International Asteroid Day is a global movement that helps to protect the Earth from asteroids.
Since the year 2016, the KITION PLANETARIUM & OBSERVATORY was appointed as the Cyprus Regional Coordinator for Asteroid Day.
Every year, the KITON PLANETARIUM & OBSERVATORY organizes and coordinates events in Cyprus, but also online events, which are available internationally.
The KITION PLANETARIUM & OBSERVATORY all the the year around, emphasises the importance of the knowledge on asteroids.
Many of its programs, workshops and astronomy courses include sessions and references on asteroids.
In addition, our team searches for new asteroids and we are proud to have our own asteroid discoveries.
