In partnership with the B612 Foundation, the Academy will host a special day-long schedule of events for families, youth, and adults alike, featuring interactive presentations, educational activities, and special guests. Catch the award-winning Incoming! in Morrison Planetarium, discover more about asteroids in the live featurette Asteroid Adventures in Hohfeld Hall, view and touch real meteorites from the Academy’s geology collection, make a comet with Academy Docents, and more!
At 11:30am a talk titled Space Rocks Nuts & Bolts will be presented by Asteroid Day 100x signatory Geoff Notkin and includes meteorites to hand around for show and tell. Geoff Notkin hosted Science Channel’s award-winning adventure series Meteorite Men and the Emmy Award-winning STEM Journals. He is also an internationally recognized meteorite authority, a widely published author and photographer, a musician, world traveler, adventurer, and film producer.
