The Virtual Telescope Project is a robotic facility in Italy, consisting in high-end telescopes fully accessible over the Internet, for both science and public outreach in astronomy.
The system is able to broadcast live, in real time, images of any kind of astronomical objects and events, with commentary by scientists skilled in science communication, making possible amazing journeys across the Universe.
Since it started in 2006, it showed the wonders of the Cosmos to many millions of viewers, from more than 200 Countries.
Asteroids are by far the most popular target for public events at Virtual Telescope. Our technology is able to track any rock out there, no matter how fast it is moving.
This makes the Virtual Telescope Project a perfect partner for Asteroid Day.
