As part of the World Asteroid Day Celebrations, the Astronomy/Astrophysics Club K.N.U.S.T will be organising a hybrid event (online and in-person) event at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. This event will be held at the Department of Physics’ – Physics Lecture Theatre. The Astronomy/Astrophysics Club K.N.U.S.T take part in this global event. Why this is important: by joining this event, we will help educate students in Ghana/Africa (the world) about asteroids (alert students of the risks of a catastrophic impact by an asteroid and
why they are important). Also, we can use this event to give the club a kick-start (after the pandemic) and help to maintain its activities in the University. This will be a great opportunity to also introduce the Africa Astronomical Society (AfAS), the Ghana CanSat/Rocketry Championship (GCRC) among others and also talk about how we can
improve Astronomy and Space Science education in Ghana.
