And here we are at the eighth edition of Asteroid Day, the most anticipated international astronomical event of the year.
The Copernicus observatory is ready to offer all members, curious and passionate about the mysteries of the cosmos, a rich cultural, scientific and entertainment program for the youngest.
During the three days you can:
– admire, learn about and even buy rare examples of meteors, exhibited in an important and vast exhibition organized by Francesco Moser and Manuela Martini, set up in the observatory.
– Participate in thematic conferences and workshops on meteorites, comets and the Solar System in general.
– Educational and recreational activities will be organized for children to introduce you to the exciting experience of “searching for real meteorites” with a metal detector, hidden in a specially equipped area.
– From this year we will have a VR (virtual reality) station that will allow you to experience breathtaking exploration experiences in the Solar System or reconnaissance of famous asteroids, like real astronauts on a mission.
– During the day you can observe the Sun with a Daystar Chromosphere solar telescope in the H-Alpha band to admire the gigantic protuberances and the solar surface in complete safety,
– in the evening, the night sky through our new robotic telescopes to learn how to navigate the constellations.
