A public presentation in the Moving Beyond Earth gallery at the National Air and Space Museum (NASM) will provide information about asteroids and efforts underway to deal with them in the future. Speakers will be Tom Jones (scientist-astronaut and chairman of the Association of Space Explorers near-Earth objects committee), Jim Zimbelman (planetary geologist at NASM, discussing impact craters throughout the solar system), and either Lindley Johnson or Kelly Fast (NASA, talking about plans for planetary defense activities), followed by a panel discussion moderated by Cheryl Reed (APL, the DART asteroid deflection demo missiion), with Q&A after each segment.
